Obituary of Edward William Trelford

Trelford, Edward William (Bill) (Dec 25, 1951 – March 08, 2018)

We, the family of Bill Trelford, would like to inform his friends of his quiet passing, slipping away from us on Thursday, March 08, 2018. Helen was by his side as always.

Bill was predeceased by Bill and Mary Trelford, his mom and dad; Kay Trelford, his mom #2; Lorena Trelford, his baba; Ted Trelford, his favourite uncle and John Nesbit, Kay’s son. Bill is survived by his partner Helen, his sister Pat, his brother Bob, Kay’s children Harry, Karen and Janet, and many nieces and nephews.

Bill was a very talented mechanic who could build anything and fix anything. He enjoyed many years of drag racing with his gang of fellow dreamers. When most of us are starting to plan retirement, Bill went back to school, graduating from Niagara College with an Associate Diploma in Electronics Engineering Technology at the age of 48. He put this education to good use, employed as an ACAD draftsman for the next 10 years. Everyone loved to visit Bill and see his many trains (big ‘G’, small ‘HO’ and tiny ‘N’), but especially the big outdoor trains in the rhododendron gardens.

Bill was a proud member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 350, honoured to represent the war time service of his father and uncle.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation at Tallman Funeral Home, Vineland on Monday March 12, 17:00 – 20:00. Memorial Service at Tallman’s Vineland Chapel, Tuesday March 13, 13:00. Bill would not want us to cry, unless it was in our beer – so please join us afterwards at the Port Dalhousie Legion, Branch 350 at 14:30.

Many thanks to all the medical staff, doctors, nurses, PSW’s and everyone else that looked after Bill so diligently these past 10 years. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation is so desired.
