Obituary of Richard Wukasch

Having lived a fruitful and fulfilling 91 years, Rev. Richard A. Wukasch went to meet his Saviour suddenly on Friday, August 21st, 2015. “Dick” was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years, Sylvia. He will be greatly missed by his six children and their spouses: Rick and Doris Wukasch, Rebecca and Alan Murray, Peter and Beth Wukasch, Matt and Suzanne Wukasch, Melissa and Terry Bone, and Ellen and Dave Anderson. “Opa” greatly influenced his eighteen grandchildren, Nathan, Benjamin, Simon, Connor, Meredith, Daniel, Jesse, Kyle, Erin, Rachel, Kevin, Sarah, David, Jessica, Mark, Joshua, Jennifer, and Emma. He left a legacy of faith and zest for life for the future of his five great-grandchildren, Abby, JD, Hope, Sophie and Joy, with another on the way! He will be greatly missed by his special friend, Betty Buter. Dick had a carefree, positive, insatiably adventurous spirit. He was an active man who enjoyed many pursuits: music, nature, art, swimming, travel, reading, as well as being active in Emmanuel Lutheran Church and supporting many Christian missions organizations. He had a keen mind, wonderful memory and love for the written word, especially the Bible, as well as the spoken word, as many can attest to! Countless people were touched over the years by his generous, friendly and caring nature, both near and far. Visitation will take place at the Vineland Chapel of Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St. Vineland, on Friday, August 28, 2015, 1-4 pm, 7-8:30 pm. Funeral to take place at Grace Lutheran Church, 213 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines, on Saturday, August 29 at 11:30 am. “Then he died in a ripe old age, full of days, riches and honour”. 1 Chronicles 29:28 Solo Deo Gloria
