Obituary of Dorothy Fast

Fast, Dorothy - Peacefully, at Hospice Niagara, with family by her side on Wednesday, June 15th, 2016, Dorothy Fast, aged 62 years. She is survived by her mother Erna, brothers Dennis (Bonnie) and Doug (Kerry). Predeceased by her father John Fast (July 2015). She will be dearly missed by nieces Melissa (Kevin), Ally, Kristen (Steven) and nephew Jay. Dorothy's friendly and welcoming smile was a mainstay of the Brock community for 43 years. Beginning at 17 years of age in the Registrar's Office, Dorothy completed her career at Brock as a Buyer for the Campus Store. She witnessed several generations of Brock students graduating, many of whom would come up to her years later asking, "Weren't you at Brock when I was there?" Dorothy was a good friend to many. She was always ready with a helping hand and enjoyed being a hostess with dinners and teas at her home. Gifted in crafts, Dorothy enjoyed contributing to the annual bazaars held at her church and other charities. She was an example to her friends of the principles of charity and outreach held by the Mennonite faith. She fought a 9 year battle with cancer and it is now time for her to be with her Lord in eternity. The family will receive friends at the St.Catharines United Mennonite Church, 335 Linwell Rd. on Monday, June 20th from 12:30-2:30pm. A private family service will be held. Interment at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, donations to Hospice Niagara or Wellspring Niagara would be appreciated.
