Lillian Loewen

Obituary of Lillian Margaret Loewen

Loewen, LILLIAN (nee GOERTZ) - Peacefully at St. Catharines General Hospital, on Monday February 11, 2019 in her 90th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank (2011). Cherished mother of Richard, Virginia (Larry), Robert and Rodney. Dearly loved Oma of Kassandra, Corey, Rachel and Eric. Dear sister of Violet, Orlando (deceased), Kenneth, Wilfred (deceased), Lenora (deceased), Gerald and Rosalie. She was a wonderful mom, kind, welcoming, always ready to feed us, and full of unconditional love. Mom was always ready to help others. This compassion for others was expressed earlier in her life through volunteering as a Sunday School teacher, as a Pioneer Girls leader, and with Community Supports Services Niagara. She loved children and cared for others' children in her home. Graduating a nurse from class 54A Hamilton General Hospital, she worked as a nurse for several years before marrying and turning her attention to her growing family.

The family would like to thank all of the medical staff at St. Catharines General Hospital, including the Dialysis Unit, as well as staff at Extendicare and at Tabor Manor Supportive Housing for their wonderful care of our mother.
