Hans was born on December 24, 1939 in Horgnetta, Concepcion, East Paraguay as the 13th child of Isaak and Agnaneta (Wedel) Neufeld. He moved his young family with wife Mary to St. Catharines, Ontario in May 1965. Hans was a carpenter by trade and an entrepreneur by heart. He started Elmwood Kitchens with a partner in 1973 and later sold his part to open his own company, MapleCraft Doors. Along with his passion for woodworking, he enjoyed travelling and being in the outdoors. He will be remembered for his hard work, his determination, his generosity, his unexpected humour, and as a man who wanted to love and leave well.
