Henry Janzen

Obituary of Henry Janzen

Janzen, Henry - At the age of 89 he passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Monday, April 29, 2019, Henry Janzen also known as Hank by his close friends.

His father, Henry and mother Katherine all lived in Beamsville, growing up with his 3 siblings, Henry has now joined his parents, and his two sisters, Tena Lewis and Mary Marlow as they all watch over their brother Abe Janzen.

He was married to the love of his life, Sheila (Aston) for 61 beautiful years before she passed away April 9, 2013.

He is survived by his 4 children, Lorraine (Robert) Troup, Marlene Philbrick, Terry (Linda) Janzen, and Scott Janzen. He enjoyed spending time with his 8 grandchildren, their significant others, as well as 14 great grandchildren. He tried to keep up with everyone’s activities and love seeing the little ones playing and laughing.

He will be sadly missed by everyone, that crossed his path. He has many friends, young and old, near and far.

He started his working career with Bell Canada as a mechanic, from there he went on to become the first owner operator of a custom mechanical grape harvesting and fruit tree trimming business, as well as owning and operating his own vineyards with his family in Beamsville on Maple Grove Road, until retirement.

He spent his time socializing at the coffee shops, bowling, golfing and skiing. He actually taught all of his grandkids how to downhill ski!

The family would like to thank everyone for all the support and love that has come their way. A special thank you to the doctors and nurses at St. Catharines General Hospital in the Critical Care Unit, for making his transition to his new journey a pleasant, new beginning. He is now reunited, happily dancing and smiling with his Sheila.
