Obituary of Joel Robert Atkinson

It is with deep sorrow that we share the loss of Joel Robert Atkinson of Beamsville, who passed away suddenly on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the age of 27.

Joel leaves behind his two precious children Mason and Charlee, who gave him much joy and sense of purpose.  He was the beloved son of Bob and Cathy, and dear older brother to Rael and Jonathan.  Cherished grandson of Robert & Mary Atkinson (predeceased), and Tom (predeceased) & “Nana” Rose Meyer.  Nephew of Steve & Anne Bushey, Craig & June Atkinson, Sue Atkinson (predeceased),  Steve & Lisa Meyer, John Meyer & Jackie Berger  Cousin to Michael, Bill, Sarah, Micaela, Mark, Jordan, Jack, Frankie, Claudette, and Remy.

Joel was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his dear friends including; Norm MacLaren, who was “Papa Norm” to his children; and his Teen Challenge brothers.  He will be remembered for his crazy sense of humour, his charming grin, his strong work ethic, and his kind heart.

A private service will be held Friday, April 24, 2020, led by Pastor Matt Tapley of Lakemount Worship Centre. The service will be livestreamed at 10:00 am, and recorded.
