Anya was born in the US and came to Canada in the 1970s.  She and Fred built their family in a historic home in Campden.  Anya’s passion was helping others.  She found great fulfillment and changed many lives as a psychotherapist.

The loss of both her husband and son to cancer led Anya to devote her retirement to improving palliative care for Canadian patients and families.  She became a powerful advocate, locally, nationally and internationally.

This journey also led Anya to meet her partner Jim, who was with her to the end.  Anya passed away peacefully in the palliative care unit at St Peter’s Hospital.

Anya made deep connections everywhere she went.  She remained close to her American family and in-laws despite the physical distance.  She formed close friendships locally, hosting an annual town Christmas party, and she also made friends internationally in her travels.  Even brief interactions could be a source of great meaning both to Anya and to all who met her.

Cremation has taken place.  A private family service will be held.
