Obituary of Eberhard Dyck

We are sure we will be glad to be free of these bodies. It will be good to be at home with the Lord. - 2 Corinthians 5:8 NLV

My mind and my body may grow weak,  but God is my strength;  He is all I ever need. - Psalms  73:26 GNT

My chains are gone, I've been set free.

My God, my Saviour has ransomed me.

And like a flood, His mercy reigns.

Unending love, amazing grace.

Monday January 18, 2021 was a joyous day for Eberhard "Ebe" Dyck.  He met Jesus face-to-face!! He is reunited with the love of his life, Carla, his wife of 61 years, whom he lost just 4 months and 2 days prior.  Ebe, 87, is also predeceased by his brother, Winrich and daughter, Caroline.  Ebe is survived by his daughter, Ellen (Nashville TN);  nieces Dagmar (Yann) and Barb (Ken); and grandnephews Alec, Mathias, Kellan and Wyn.

Ebe will be sorely missed by his longtime buddies, George Gouthro (Kemptville ON) and Charlie Kyle (Vineland ON) as well as his supportive, loving "second family," Stuart and Elinore Thorburn along with their children, Nick and Victoria.

Much love and thanks to Ebe's church family at The First Mennonite in Vineland.

Ebe was energetic and enthusiastic with such zest for life. He was a sponge for knowledge as evidenced throughout his 45-year career with Otis Elevator, starting as a mechanics apprentice in Germany rising to Manager of Field Education covering Canada and part of the US. He always had a smile, laugh and a story to share (and if you were lucky, chocolateBlush).

Soon, I shall hear the call from Heaven's portals,

"Come home, my child, it's the last mile you have to trod,"

I'll fall asleep and wake up in God's new heaven,

forever sheltered in the arms of God.

-These are words from a song sung by a dear friend, Linda Davis.

-This song is what Ebe heard as he took Jesus' hand. Heart
