Obituary of Terence John Bonham

It is with great sadness that the family of Terence (Terry) John Bonham announce the passing of their beloved husband, father and grandfather. Terry died suddenly on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at his home in Vineland, ON, just shy of the age of 73.

Terry was born on January 26, 1948 in Grimsby, Ontario to his mother, Margaret Kathleen Bonham (DeMille) and father, Robson John Bonham.

Devoted husband of Jane (nee Howey) for 46 years, and loving father of Jeffrey and Erin (Luke Carlisle). Cherished Grandpa of Maxwell and Olive Carlisle. Dear son-in-law of Ginny Wais (late Werner Wais), brother-in-law of Carol Leslie (late Wayne Leslie) and uncle of Tyler Smith. Dear friend of Brian Emerson. Also survived by his sister, Kathleen Brown (Gerry Brown), nephew Patrick Riley, and cousins Linda Nicholson, Roxanne Finch, and Gary Finch.

Terry’s strong work ethic was developed at an early age working on his family’s farm in Grimsby, ON.  Terry played hockey at the Peach Kings arena nightly and was a member of the 1969 Ontario Amateur Softball Association Jr. B champions.

Terry graduated from Queens University as a Metallurgical Engineer. Additionally, he achieved his MBA from McMaster University. Terry had a successful career at Stelco in Hamilton, ON and became Primary Operations Manager at Hilton Works.

After Terry retired from Stelco, Terry and Jane enjoyed golfing, spending vacations touring Northern Ontario, road trips on his Honda Goldwing, going to Jr & NHL hockey games, theatrical performances and keeping the vehicles in immaculate condition.

Terry had a true talent for organizing social outings and was fortunate to be surrounded by a lovely circle of friends. Terry had a strong sense of community and joined the Niagara Region Police Services Board.  He was on the board for 4 years.
