June was such an inspiration to me and a true friend. She always tried to be upbeat and have fun and cared a lot about the people around her. I know that she also raised a lot of money over the years for the MS Society. So she really knew how to give back. I only knew her for the past 9 years but I will never forget her since she demonstrated how to always do your best to cope with what comes your way and deal with adversity but always keep smiling! The attached picture is from Christmas 2019 when we spent the day together and shared Christmas lunch at Woodlands. I will miss you very much my friend!
June Frayne, or Jude, or Junebug . The girl that went by many names, she didn't care what you called her as long as you wanted to spend some time sharing memories and funny stories. Living with MS her life was restricted in many ways, so she loved to get involved in so many friends lives, sharing there stories. June also had stories of her own about hiking Europe with her Sister, working at the library in Toronto, getting a masters degree and staying friends with her girls she went to University with for all of these years.
The most amazing thing about June was her positive attitude. As long as she had friends, family and a project she was happy. June's last project this past year was to raise money for MS like she always did. Every year June would canvas for MS and when she could, go on the MS walk. Thanks to the staff at Woodlands, friends and family she would raise thousands of dollars. The last time she went on the walk , her brother Doug pushed her chair down King street of Welland along with her dear friend Ellen. Everyone from the MS Society who was there new Jude for many years, and they were always so happy to see her. She was an inspiration. In 2020, because of Covid, there was no MS walk. Jude wanted to know what she could do. MS had a spotlight on People with MS and their hobbies. Junes hobby was adult colouring and she was getting into making bookmarks, so suggestions were made for her to create the bookmarks and the wonderful staff at Woodlands laminated them. June raised $1160.00 with the bookmarks! Amazing! Amazing of June and all of the people who helped her achieve her goal.
June Frayne, always positive, driven, and fun loving. Miss you already June!
