Obituary of Annemarie Lebkuecher

Annemarie Lebkuecher

March 6 1929 – February 9 2021

Today, it is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of our beloved Wife, Mom, Oma and Uhr Oma, sister and friend, Annemarie Lebkuecher.   Sad to say goodbye to a beautiful person, inside and out, happy that she will once again be in the arms of her beloved husband, Robert (d 1953).

Survived by Lisa (Don McCulloch), Roberta (Oleh Stasyszyn) granddaughters Sonia and Roxanne (James MacDonald) and great grandson Sye MacDonald.  Sisters, Inge Enss (dReinhard), Lore and Al Meiler, Karen Walter (d Fred) and Doris Goossen (d John).  Also survived by her Brother in law, Alfred and his wife Gisela of Germany.  Also many nieces, nephews and their families here and in Germany and a cousin Rosemary Wunsch in Germany as well. Predeceased by her parents, Liesbeth and Kurt Adischkewitz, brothers Johannes, and Rudi (wife Renate, daughters Doris and Marion all deceased).

An inspiration, a port in a storm, wonderful baker and homemaker, extraordinary coffee brewer (Starbuck’s move over) superb fashionista/seamstress/power shopper and Medical Secretary extraordinaire, welcome to my home, fierce hugger to the end.  Hard working, never say never, diplomatic, kind and family above all else, lover of all animals, small but mighty – absolutely!

So many obstacles, so many accomplishments.  An immigrant to Canada from Germany.  Proud of her family and heritage and proud to call Canada home.

Thank you to all the staff and PSW’S at Tufford Manor for taking such good care of Annemarie especially the last few years as the relentless erosion of dementia marched on.  Again, I would be remiss if I didn’t specifically  thank Janneen and her dream team of nurses, PSW’s, housekeeping staff and care partners for their herculean efforts during covid.

Mom, you said to me daily, “Liese, what would I do without you?”  Now I say, “Mom, what will I do without you?” Until we meet again, I will look for you in the garden and feel your touch in the gentle breezes that blow. 00XX

P.S.  No more hearing aids, Yay!!

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Red Cross, Salvation Army or the Humane Society.
