Obituary of Erna Fast

FAST, Erna (nee Peters)  Passed away peacefully at the St. Catharines Hospital on March 26, 2021 in her 93^rd year.  Predeceased by her beloved husband John (2015) and her beautiful daughter Dorothy (2016).  Loving mother of Dennis (Bonnie) and Doug (Kerry) and cherished Oma to grandchildren Melissa (Adam) and Kristen (Steve), Ally and Jay (Janet).  Also survived by her siblings Al Peters, Frieda Dueck and Rita (Peter) Klassen.  Predeceased by her brother John Peters and sister Susie Franz.  She will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Erna was a proud member of the St. Catharines United Mennonite Church where she served on various committees and sang in the Ladies choir for over 40 years.  She resided in her own apartment for the last 5.5 years and shared her love of baking and knitting with many friends there.  The family would like to thank the Assisted Living staff at Ina Grafton for their devoted and loving care of mom.  Special thanks to the entire team on Floor 3A of the hospital for their excellent care and compassion shown to our mother.  A private family service will be held at Tallman’s Vineland Chapel and if desired, donations to charity of your choice would be appreciated.
