Obituary of Barratt Ross

Barratt (Barry) Calman Ross

It is with great sadness our family announces the sudden passing of Barry Ross at the young age of 73 on June 1, 2021

Barry was a well traveled, silver-tongued ladies’ man with wicked dance moves that could put a 20yr old to shame.

Charming and charismatic he had a life-long love of all things Scottish, med-rare steak, loaded baked potato, Glenfiddich (neat), Guinness, coffee, Coca-Cola (never Pepsi), cigarettes, relaxing in his locally purchased hot tub, Buffalo Bills and Sabres and Friday nights with ‘the girls’ dancing until the break of dawn.

He excelled as a friend and confidant, gardener, handyman, selling ice to Eskimo’s, beating his son-in-law at golf and never being able to figure out his cell phone.

Barry was predeceased by his parents Douglas and Frances. He is survived by his loving children Doug (Nicole) and Erin (Jude), sister Charlene, nieces, nephew’s, other family and a multitude of close friends and colleagues. He took exceptional pride in his grandchildren Jordan and Trenton (Achico), Noah, Ethan, Kennedy and Hope (Ross), for whom he would lie, cheat and call in sick to work without hesitation to attend dance competitions, hockey games and Judo tournaments.

He will be missed profoundly by all who had the privilege to make his acquaintance. Although short in stature (5’6” on a good day), his larger-than-life attitude and ‘no regrets’ mantra attributed to him always being the tallest man in the room.

The world is a bit dimmer with the loss of his bright light.
