Obituary of John Jans Lubberts

John Jans Lubberts, age 73, surrounded by family went to be with his Saviour on August 23, 2021. Born in the Netherlands on January 21, 1948, John was the son of Bert and Tiena (Wolting) who predeceased him in death. John was the third child among siblings Jane (the late Mark), Janie (Hank), Tim, Mary (Hilbert), Ruth (Ralph), the late Arthur, & Rose (Fred).

John was married for 52 years to the love of his life Dianne (Hoftyzer). They met in youth attending Christian reform church in Peterborough.

John & Dianne were blessed with 7 children: Brent, Sophia (Andrew), Nataschia (Mike), Quentin (Angela), Justin (Natalee), Jordan (Crystal), and Vanessa (Matt).

He will be dearly missed by his 16 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild: Alana (Colin), Chanel, Madison, Corey (Krysten), Shaniah, Darian, Chloe, Nash, Lyla, Avery, Annie, Skye, Zac, Owen, Tyler, Gavin, and great grand baby Clara.

John was a long distance driver and loyal employer to D&W Forwarders for 48 years. He was grateful in his later years to be able to share his work and the road with his son and best bud Brent.

Of greatest importance to John was providing a spiritual foundation for his family and openly sharing his love for Christ with those around him. John loved being outdoors, gardening, watching the birds, colouring quietly, and spending time with his many grandchildren.
