Van Arragon, George John

August 14, 1942-December 27, 2021

Our husband, father, and Opa, Reverend George Van Arragon, died unexpectedly on December 27, 2021 at the age of 79. He was born August 14, 1942 in Zuidwolde, Netherlands. He was married for 48 years to Freda Van Arragon (née Proper). He was a pastor starting his ministry in Alliston CRC in 1979 and a chaplain at Oshawa General Hospital and Shalom Manor for 29 years. George had a deep love for his wife, children and grandchildren.

George found deep spiritual meaning ministering faithfully alongside the Kairos community over the past 40 years.  He loved travel, visiting 30 countries and 48 of the 50 states. He would talk often of his travels and his days hitchhiking. He was especially fond of his time doing archaeology in Jordan in 1971. George loved his lifelong study of the Bible focusing particularly on Psalms and Isaiah.  He took good joy woodworking in his shop, reading from and beyond his extensive library. He was passionate about art and music of eastern Orthodoxy.
