Cornelis Van Driel

Obituary of Cornelis Hendrick Van Driel

It is with Great sadness to announce the Passing of our Dear Father Cornelis Hendrick Van Driel on February 10 2022, in to the arms of our Lord and his beloved wife Klarina of 65 years who prepared the way 3 months ago.

He leaves behind his children Diane, Leo and Jenneke, Mary Ann, Ellen and Thomas, Grand Children Stephan and Alexandra, Robyn, Briar and Keenan, Christian, Dan and Andrea, Julie and Sid, and Erik. Also a Great Grandsons James, and (a sign of the circle of life) George, (Dan and Andrea's boys) who celebrated his 3rd birthday this day. He leaves behind His Sister Nellie in Holland as well as many Nieces and Nephews. He also leaves Simba, his Old Cat who gave him so much comfort after Mom was gone.

We all Celebrate his long life with memories of his strong Faith, his love of all his Dogs, his books, his garden, his love of travelling. He was in the Dutch Navy in the 1950's, emigrating to Canada with Mom, Diane and Leo in 1960. He first retired from Moyer Diebel in his 50's, maintaining some cherished friends all those years, and retired again from driving a flower truck at 74 yrs. He never really stopped working. He was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed help.

He has been to Holland to visit family numerous times, travelled to Cuba, Costa Rica, Panama and all over Ontario, East Coast, The East USA with his travel trailer alone with Mom, with friends and family.  He always said he had a wonderful life and felt very Blessed.

There is going to be a private celebration of life at a later date.
