Obituary of Klaas Kelder

KLAAS KELDER

MAY 9, 1939 – APRIL 17, 2022

On Easter morning, Klaas passed away peacefully at Hospice Niagara.  He is now in his Heavenly Home with his Lord and Savior.  Beloved husband of Cathy Kelder (van der Voort).  Son of the late Jan and Wil Kelder.  Loving brother of Wil, Rita, Bill, Keith, Diana, Mary and Anna.  Predeceased by his brother Rev. Jan Kelder.  He will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews as well as Cathy’s brothers and sister. 

Klaas was a faithful member of Covenant  Church where his presence will be greatly missed.  Klaas immigrated from the Netherlands in 1957 with his parents and siblings.  He trained as a baker and was Master Baker at Queenston  Bakery for many years.  One of Klaas’ missions in life was to see people happy and to share the Word of God with them.  He touched many people’s hearts. 

Arrangements have been entrusted to Tallman Funeral Home (905-562-5454).  Visitation at Covenant Church, 278 Parnell Road, St. Catharines (905-684-2653)on Wednesday April 20, 2022, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  On Thursday April 21, 2022, a private graveside service will be held.    A celebration of Klaas’ life will be held at Covenant Church at 11:00 am at 278 Parnell Road, St Catharines. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice Niagara or World Renew (CRC).
