He was by far the most interesting and engaging teacher I ever had in all my years of education (including university). I have never forgotten him. He made all history relevant, & challenged his pupils to think of nuances, ramifications, etc., rather than just provide a recitation. I ALWAYS looked forward to his class for five straight years, despite the fact that he was the hardest grader in the school. I never once looked up at the clock in boredom. His teaching was a gift, making me look him up all these years later. Sorry I didn’t get the chance to thank him. He ignited a life-long love of history in me. Thank you Mr. Begay.
