Alfred Thomas Story

Al passed away peacefully at Upper Canada Lodge in Niagara-on-the-Lake on October 23, 2022 at 96 years of age. He was a devoted husband of 43 years to Louise (Siemens). He is survived by his three daughters Denise (Whit) Edwards, Markdale; Laurel (John) Glencross, Durham and Maria (Mike) Kozak of Kirkland QC. and his grandchildren, Kristin Edwards (Paul Tambeau), Mark Edwards (Whitney Thompson), Tyna (Mike) Crockford, Kari (Jared) Stokes, Derek Kozak (Patricia Greene), Caylie Kozak (Etienne Choiniere-Shields) and four great grandchildren Meredith and Cameryn Stokes, Maelle and Claire Edwards, and baby Ellie arriving in February.

He was born In Owen Sound on July 26, 1926, the eldest son of Captain Alfred J. Story and Marguerite (Gardhouse). He is predeceased by his parents, infant daughter Patricia, his sister Joan Tester, brother Roger and his former wife Dorothy (Mills). Al is survived by his brother in law, Dr. Wayne Tester and numerous nieces and nephews.

Al was involved in hospital operations throughout his working life. For many years he enjoyed the family cottage at French Bay on Lake Huron which he built and expanded. He was interested in reading, fishing, classical music, travel and gardening especially his roses and vegetable garden which he shared with family and friends. Al was a kind and considerate fellow and he led an active life prior to developing dementia. His family thanks the staff at U.C.L. for the efficient and gentle care that was given to Alfred throughout his stay.

A Celebration of Life will be taking place on Saturday December 3, 2022 at 3pm at Tallman Funeral Homes, Vineland.
