Dear Agnes, Grace, Jim and Family. We are so very sorry for your loss and send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. Your Mom, was such a strong, courageous, loving woman. She had so much love to give and was so determined to overcome every obtstacle in her way. Her spirit was much to be admired and aspired to. Your Mom and Dad were the dearest of friends to my parents. They shared so many good times together. Their weekly visits were times to be cherished. When regular visits were no longer possible, phone calls were so very much appreciated. Our last in person visit in November of 2019, had all the bells and whistles. Coffee in special cups and of course with a delicious treat. It was a pleasure to watch the two Mom's, like sisters, enjoy their time together. May she now rest in peace. Labrie, Trudy (Truus) October 9, 1927- November 28, 2022 It is with heavy hearts and beautiful memories that we announce the passing of our mother, oma, great oma and sister who was in her 96th year and went to be with her Lord on November 28, 2022. She will forever be remembered as a kind and loving woman by her family and friends. She leaves behind her children Agnes, Grace (Art), and Jim (Beth), her grandchildren Trevor, Brad (Megan), Julia (Alex), Tasha, Josh, and her great grandson Jacob who were truly her pride and joy. She will also be deeply missed by her beloved sisters and brothers-in-law Kryna and Pete VanGeest, Claudia and Graham Poirier, and her many nieces and nephews. We love you Mom, Oma, Truus, and we know you’re saying, “I love you much more.” Trudy was born October 9, 1927 in Boskoop, Netherlands. She immigrated to Canada in 1950 with her parents, brother and two younger sisters. Trudy met and married the love of her life Jacob in April 1952. They were married for 68 years before Jacob passed in 2020. Trudy worked for a short period before and after her marriage at the Beamsville Basket Factory before changing careers to become a mother and homemaker. She focused on caring for her family and making her home a loving and welcoming place for all those who stopped by for a visit. You could always count on good conversation and a fresh pot of coffee every afternoon (served with a plate of homemade lemon cookies or black forest cake) – and on Sundays, a hot bowl of soup. She and Jacob lived their entire married life in Vineland where they raised their family and watched their grandchildren grow up. She was the matriarch of her family and found her greatest joy in gathering all her family and loved ones together. Trudy was a talented seamstress, and many can attest to the skill of her cross stitching, knitting, and crocheting; these beloved treasures fill the homes of her friends and family today. In her years living at the Orchardview Apartments she was always happily knitting and crocheting for residents of the Mennonite Home, and for their fundraising events, putting love and care into each stitch. She also loved her volunteer work at the “Wednesday Soup Day Lunches” and would always be able to tell you how many bowls of soup they sold that day! Trudy spent her final two and a half years as a resident of the Mennonite Home and although her mind and memory were affected by dementia, she continued to be known as a kind, sweet woman who despite everything was always smiling (and making us laugh with her witty sense of humour). She will be missed by many. The funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at Tallman Funeral Home in Vineland on Monday December 5th at 2:00 pm. Following the service there will a luncheon in the Fireside Room to share memories and meet with the family. A private family interment at the Vineland Cemetery will have taken place prior to the service. We are so grateful to the United Mennonite Home staff and Dr. Woodland for the wonderful care you provided for mom during her time there and she will be missed by many. In lieu of flowers please feel free to send your memorial donations to the United Mennonite Home in Vineland.

Your donation will be processed through My Tribute Gift Foundation for distribution to your selected charity. Your credit card transaction record will appear as My Tribute Gift Foundation. An official tax receipt for your donation will be issued by My Tribute Gift Foundation. Donations are sent out to charities at the end of each month for all donations received in that previous month. So a donation made on the first day of the month would be sent at the same time as one made on last day. Payments would be sent either by paper check or direct deposit. Please note that the there is 3% + 35¢/transaction fee for credit card processing, My Tribute Gift Foundation collects a 5% administrative fee. These fees help fund the cost of processing all donations, issuing tax receipts, and sending all appropriate information to the selected charity. These fees are assumed by your selected charity, but you will receive a receipt for the full amount of your donation. There are NO additional costs the charity has to endure to participate and accept donations through MyTributeGift.org. According to the American Institute for Philanthropy (charitywatch.org) a charitable organization is considered “Good” if they are spending less than 30% on administration and fundraising costs. My Tribute Gift Foundation helps reduce those administrative costs for charities and allows donors to contribute to lasting memorials for their loved ones.
When donating online, if the donation form has an option to add a tip, there is no convenience fee. The tip is optional and can be adjusted before you submit your donation. The amount of the tip will be displayed to you before you confirm the charge to your payment card. Tips are in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount that goes to the charitable organization. Under IRS and CRA rules, tips are not tax deductible to the donor.
You warrant and represent that all information and materials you provide to My Tribute Gift Foundation, through the Website or otherwise, are accurate and truthful and do not violate third party rights. TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL MY TRIBUTE GIFT FOUNDATION OR ITS AFFILIATES, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, SERVICE PROVIDERS, AND AGENTS (THE "FOUNDATION PARTIES") BE LIABLE FOR ANY: (i) INDIRECT, CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, COMPENSATORY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; (ii) DAMAGES FOR LOSS OF INCOME, LOSS OF PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, LOSS OF DATA OR DAMAGE TO PROPERTY; (iii) CLAIMS OF THIRD PARTIES; OR (iv) OTHER PECUNIARY LOSS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OF USE, THE WEBSITE OR ANY LINKED SITE. Indemnity. YOU AGREE TO INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE FOUNDATION PARTIES FROM AND AGAINST ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, DEMANDS, ACTIONS, SUITS AND PROCEEDINGS BROUGHT BY YOU OR ANY THIRD PARTY (COLLECTIVELY "CLAIMS") ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THIS SITE IN BREACH OF THESE TERMS OF USE OR THE INFRINGEMENT BY YOU OF ANY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY RIGHTS OF ANY PERSON OR ENTITY, INCLUDING ALL LOSSES, LIABILITIES, DAMAGES, COSTS AND EXPENSES (INCLUDING ALL LEGAL FEES) ARISING FROM SUCH CLAIMS.

These Terms of Use and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and all federal laws of Canada applicable therein. The courts of the Province of Ontario shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of these Terms of Use or your use of the Website.
These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and My Tribute Gift Foundation with respect to the Website, except as we may explicitly agree otherwise in writing.. No delay or failure to exercise any right with respect to these Terms of Use shall be construed as a waiver by My Tribute Gift Foundation.
As a donor, you are responsible for researching the charity, understanding how your money will be used, and understanding the tax implications of your donation. We will email you a receipt, but the deductibility of your donation depends on your individual tax situation. We are not financial, tax, or legal experts. Please do not rely on our information to make decisions about your finances, taxes or legal matters. Consult a qualified professional in your jurisdiction.
Participating organizations have chosen to actively participate in the “Sponsor Program” to be represented in the Sponsor Charity array in an effort to increase their exposure and the opportunity for more memorial donations to be made to their organization. A rate structure is agreed upon and assessed on each donation processed through that program according to each organization’s individual agreement. Giving through that program has helped many organizations realize a drastic and significant increase in net donations.
If a donation form has a line item of Convenience Fee. The Convenience fee is displayed to you prior to approving the charge to your payment card. The convenience fee is in addition to the donation amount, so they do not affect the amount reaching the charitable organization. For example, a $100 donation becomes a $101.50 transaction. The convenience fee is directed immediately to a for-profit service provider. According to IRS and CRA rules the tax deductible receipt will therefore only be issued for the subtotal amount.
My Tribute Gift Foundation seeks to distribute all funds to organizations provided they have maintained active 501c3 certification in the United States or registered charity status in Canada. MTG relies on the beneficiary organizations to maintain and keep up to date contact information on file with the IRS or CRA respectively. This must be done in order for My Tribute Gift Foundation to exercise care and reasonable efforts to distribute payment promptly, without undue cost and burden to the foundation. In the event that a payment has not been deposited 12 months from issuance, the foundation reserves the right to utilize those funds in its mission to the foundation.
My Tribute Gift Foundation reserves the right to modify, change, discontinue and suspend these Terms of Use, the Website, and/or any services offered through the Website, in whole or in part, at any time, without prior notice to you. Your continued access or use of the Website after modifications to these Terms of Use have been posted on the Website shall indicate your acceptance of and agreement to be bound by these Terms of Use as modified.
