Obituary of Elfrieda Louise Budarick

Budarick, Elfriede (Frieda) Louise Wiebe

Passed away on November 28, 2022, at the age of 87 following a lengthy period with Alzheimers. She is predeceased by her husband Mel (2020), her father Jacob (1992), her mother Alice (1948), her stepmother Elisabeth (2005), her sisters Annelora (1999), and Hilda (2020).

She will be fondly remembered by her remaining siblings, Marg Wiebe, John Wiebe (Ingrid), Katie Epp (Dale), Peter Wiebe (Val), as well as her nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Frieda was a well-respected and dedicated elementary school teacher, who especially enjoyed putting on annual musicals with her students.

She was a committed member at Grantham Mennonite church where she generously shared her many gifts as organist, choir conductor, member of many boards and committees, serving both locally and at provincial levels. She was appreciated for her creativity, exceptional organizational ability and meticulous planning.

Frieda worked in the community in the Out-of-the-Cold program for years helping the homeless in our city. She enjoyed contributing to the music scene as an active member of the Community Concert Association, also serving as president for a number of years.

The integrity and principles with which she led her life, will be an inspiration to all who knew her.

In her spare time she enjoyed reading, travelling with friends, time at the cottage, camping, and attending many concerts.

A special thank you to the staff of the Long-term Care at Tabor Manor for the compassion and care they provided.

In the spring a private celebration of Frieda's life will be held at Vineland Cemetery where her ashes will be interred at her mother Alice's side.

As an expression of sympathy in memory of Frieda, donations to Alzheimers Association would be appreciated by her family.
