Heartfelt condolences to the family of Helene. George and I always felt welcomed when we stopped in to visit with Henry and Helene, or when invited to participate in some of their celebrations.. Helene was always warm, friendly, caring and easy to talk with. Whether we were talking about family, jigsaw puzzles,, or sharing recipes and our faith in God, our communication was almost always bilingual: German and/or English.
Helene had a delightful sense of humour seen in the ways she adjusted to “on the spur of the moment” decisions to go out for a meal, and noted especially when I forgot to stop at Creekview to drop her off and kept heading toward the Brookview building. She just chuckled. I will miss her infectious smile, her words of encouragement , and her prayers.
