Obituary of Maria Teresa DaSilva

Maria Teresa DaSilva, 93, passed away on July 12, 2023 at the United Mennonite Nursing Home in Vineland, ON.

Funeral service will be held on July 18 at 11 AM at the St. Helen Catholic Church (4106 Mountain St, Beamsville). The burial will follow at Vineland Cemetery, 4025 Martin Road, Vineland. Following the burial, there will be a reception with light refreshments at Tallman Funeral Home, 3277 King Street, Vineland.

Maria was born in Azores, Portugal to Jacinto Pacheco Amigao and Ermelinda da Conceicao Sousa on July 12, 1930. Maria married her husband, Deodato Luis DaSilva, on July 12, 1959. They remained married for 63 years until Deodato’s passing in 2022. Maria loved sewing, gardening, and cooking delicious meals for her very grateful family. She is survived by her dear sister, Naida Estela (and Joe); Her nephews, Ric, Tom, and Jason Estela; her children, Miguel DaSilva (and Virginia), Isabel Trew, Fernanda DeGois (and Joe), Teresa Boucher (and Frank Heim), and Gaspar DaSilva; her grandchildren, Sergio (and Ernestine), Jenna (and Del), Melissa (and James), Kirsten, Sarah (and Brendan), Jonathan, Lydia, Simon (and Lucy), Aaron (and Melanie), and Trinity (and Evelina); and her great-grandchildren, Kalie, Thomas, Audrey, Bianca, Boden, Ferris, Larissa, Eli, Joe, and Ezra.

Maria will be greatly missed by her loving family as a cherished sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
