Paul Meehan

Obituary of Paul Lawrence Meehan

Paul Lawrence Meehan June 23 1935 – March 10 2024

Surrounded by his loving family, Paul passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 10th, 2024 at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton at the age of 88.  Loving husband of Mary Susan (predeceased), with whom he shared 55 joyous years.  Loving father of Cameron (Mary), Tony, Kimberly (Todd Bloomfield) and proud grandfather of Hannah, Lillie and Olivia.  Paul came from a large family and was the youngest of twelve children. He enjoyed many special moments over the years with numerous siblings, nephews, nieces and friends.

Before moving to Beamsville, Ontario in 2000, Paul spent many enjoyable years in Sudbury where he proudly raised his family. He worked tirelessly as a salesman for Greening Donald Ltd and Wire Rope Industries.  Never one to sit for long, Paul maintained a flurry of activity to the end. Whether enjoying a game of lawn-bowling, picking fruit at the local orchards, or helping numerous neighbours in his community, Paul always kept a busy schedule. However, Paul will be remembered for the way he made people laugh and smile.  His quick wit and endless supply of jokes would be his hallmark and an enduring quality to both new friends and old friends alike.

The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Kimberley Lewis, and all of the incredible nurses and staff in the ICU at St. Joseph’s Healthcare in Hamilton.  Your compassion and caring for Paul and his family will not be forgotten.     We would also like to acknowledge the care provided to him at West Lincoln Memorial Hospital.

As per Paul’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  However, a celebration of life will be organized shortly. Further details to follow.
