Obituary of Margaret Katherine Tutecky

I’ve put my Lee Valley treasured gardening tools away, dusted off my Japanese Maples and my two cats are nestled in beside me. What a wonderful life I can reflect back on as I sit here in my nurturing home in the beautiful Niagara Escarpment, knowing I have had the love of my family and cherished friends as I ventured through my life! My husband, John and I treasured every minute we had together whether it be on trips or just snuggled happily in our chairs. We did not need a lot, just each other and our lovely family which consists of my special Sis, Carol, niece Megan, our children Chris, Adam and Tina along with their special ones, Steph and Jade. John’s brother, Bill, and his family Faith, Alexa and Wills have always been a source of delight for us as well. John and I have had a wonderful, loving, peaceful life together. We shared a TRUE love. Friends were an integral part of our lives. Truly, a friend is a present you give yourself and cherish forever. They are such caring, thoughtful people and I love every one of them! We shared so much laughter and fun times within our family and with our friends. When we had the combination of Bill, Adam and Megan and John, everyone was chuckling from ear to ear at the conversation and the time passed so quickly when we all got together. Teaching was an immensely happy and rewarding part of my life. Those teens were “challenging?” but we always had such good times together. It means the world to me that many have kept in touch no matter how far away they were, Whitehorse, Yukon and Thompson, Manitoba to name a few. Then to have the pleasure of attending many of their weddings, bridal and baby showers and special family events just capped it all off. I cherished every day of the thirty plus years I spent with these amazing students! The parents were just as wonderful. So many families, so many healthy relationships were formed. Thank you students and parents, you meant the world to me! My health care over the last 34 years that I fought this disease was the BEST it could ever have been! These medical experts were with me through breast cancer in my late thirties and many reoccurrences, 19 surgeries at Women’s College, chest tumour, brain cancer and radiation, and now liver cancer. I cannot say it any better than I truly believe I had the BEST care anyone could dream of. We are so fortunate to be where we are and I say thanks every day in my heart to all five hospital staffs that helped in every possible way they could! I have had a terrifically fulfilling life with a husband who cherished me as I did him, joy of a family who wrapped me in a nurturing soft blanket of love and friends who truly wanted to spend time with me. THANK YOU EVERYONE, I LOVE YOU ALL! ~ Margaret Donations to Walker Cancer Centre or McNally House would be appreciated Celebration of Life on Sunday, July 17th at 2:30 p.m. Jory Hall, Trinity United Church, Beamsville
