Obituary of Raoul Raymond Chevallard

Raoul Raymond Chevallard 1938-2023

In the early days of November, after a full and complete life; Ronnie was able to close his eyes and rejoin the “love of his life” Mary, in the dance of eternity. The last year and a half since our mom finished her earthly walk, Ronnie has longed for nothing more than to join her on the other side.

In spite of many years that we don’t pretend to understand or know the depths of… Ronnie and Mary found each other in their “golden years”. They were each ready to leave the hardships and hurts of the many years before and join together in their pursuit of fun, sun and enjoyment of each other’s company. Their life together started with many trips back and forth to Ronnie’s home in Clearwater, Florida where they thoroughly enjoyed the beautifully warm winters. When Mary’s health got more challenging, Ronnie eventually left the sunny south to join Mary full time in her home in Canada.

Ronnie never failed to let us know how thankful he was to be included in Mary’s family. He was so grateful in these last years for the care we took to make sure their needs were looked after, as they finished out their days at Tabor manor. Ronnie always thought that he was the lucky one…. In truth it was our family who was lucky. It could be said that all of the ups and downs and those loved, lost and left behind, helped Ronnie understand the importance of belonging. One of the biggest gifts we received as a family from Ronnie, was the gratefulness he poured on us whenever we were together.

Ronnie is survived by his sister Nanette Miller and other extended family in Ohio. He also left to mourn Mary’s family: Kevin & Tammy, Rob & Miaco and Heidi. He was a great Papa Ronnie to Brittney & Tj, Branden & Kaylee, Kayla & Matty, Justine & Marcus, Austin & Megan, Lauren, and Alexa. Ronnie thoroughly enjoyed Mary’s great grandchildren as well as many fun times with all of her siblings.

Ronnie was pre-deceased by his love Mary, his beloved mother Cleo Marie Rininger, his father Raymond Raoul Chevallard, his daughters Holly Beth Lance and Deborah Jean Greathouse, and his sister Susanne Piatt.

The family would like to thank the staff at Tabor manor for the years of care for Mary and Ronnie. They appreciated and were thankful for all of you. Cremation has occurred and the family will have a private graveside interment service in accordance with Ronnie’s wishes.
