Obituary of Klaus-Dieter Baginski

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Klaus-Dieter Baginski, predeceased by the love of his life Lynn (2007).

He was born in Germany and came to Canada over 50 years ago to start anew. He worked at Dofasco for almost 40 years. He loved to travel and kept talking about one day going on another trip, all the way until his passing. We are sure he is traveling the world enjoying the food and drinks. For decades and decades, he owned a cottage in Red Bay. It was known as the family cottage and anyone was welcome to use it. We would spend hours playing dice or card games at the table. He enjoyed sitting at the fire pit poking the fire or in the boat fishing. He loved coming out to anything that involved his children or grandchildren. From a science fair to a hockey game, you were sure to see him there. He would make the trip to away games never wanting to miss the excitement. You were sure to see him with his fries or popcorn in the stands. He was the one cheering and making his ear splitting whistle. His passion for his family was overflowing. He was the first person to offer help to someone. He would offer you the shirt off his back, which makes sense since he was quite often not wearing a shirt.

He will be missed by his partner Cathy. Tears are being shed by his children Andrew, Erich, Kathryn (Chris) and step children Christine, Brent, Shannon, Mel and Mark (Jenny). His grandchildren are heartbroken of their Opa being gone. Kyrsten (Ben), Chantelle, Sarah, Billy, Jack, Adam and great grandchildren Bee, Melody and Bowen. Billy considered Opa his best friend. They would spend many days together chatting at his kitchen table or hanging out in his garage, and fetching his lottery tickets. He has many friends and family around the world that will be missing him. From Germany, Ukraine, Columbia, Mexico and so many other lands.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Tallman Funeral home. 3277 King Street, Vineland, ON.Visitation will be held Thursday January 4, 2-4 & 6-8pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diabetes Association.

Private burial will take place at a future date where he will be interred with Lynn.
