Obituary of Neil Voth

Neil Voth

1930-2024

Cornelius (Neil) Voth of St Catharines, Ontario passed away peacefully at Radiant Care Tabor Manor, St Catharines, a week short of his 94th birthday.

Predeceased in 2013 by Susan, his beloved wife of 60 years, Neil is survived by his daughter Janice, son Jeff, daughter in law Bonnie, granddaughters Erin (Justin) and Allison (Chris). He was the proud great grandfather of Norah, Violetta and Remy.

Neil was born May 4th, 1930, in Steinbach, Manitoba, to John and Mary Voth. The family of 11 moved to Chilliwack, BC where Neil grew up helping on the farm. Moving to St Catharines, Ontario, in his early 20’s, he attended the local Mennonite Brethren Church where he met the love of his life, Susan.

After retiring from his dearly loved job as a truck driver, Neil was able to spend even more time serving the Lord and his church family at Grantham MB as custodian into his 80’s. Neil loved Jesus and his passion was to bring others to a relationship with Jesus Christ, here in the local church and also supporting his daughter in her years of mission work in India, Israel and Thailand. He prioritized others and loved spending time with family, enjoying annual fishing trips with his son, granddaughter and friends.

A stroke and fall left Neil in a wheelchair for the past 10 years. Nonetheless, he remained cheerful and kind and brought much joy to others with his harmonica playing and yodeling. The family would like to thank Ina Grafton Gage Home and Radiant Care Tabor Manor for their support and care for Neil over the past years.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 16th at 11:00 am with visitation from 10:00 – 11:00 am in the Chapel at Tallman Funeral Homes. A reception in the Fireside Room will be held following the service.
