Obituary of Hilda Hubert

 Hilda Hubert (nee Wiens) age 94 of Vineland, Ontario passed away peacefully, on May 3rd, 2024 at the United Mennonite Home in Vineland.  

Visitation and funeral service will be held at the Vineland Missionary Church on Tuesday May 7th.  Visitation will be at 12 pm, with the funeral service beginning at 1:00pm.  The Committal and refreshments will follow the service.

Hilda Hubert was born in Springridge, Alberta to Heinrich and Aganetha Wiens on Aug 25th, 1929. She went to school in Latham, Alberta and later attended  Menno Bible School for 3 years . In 1952, she moved to Ontario to work, and on Aug. 16,1953 married Bill Hubert. Hilda worked on their farm, while raising 5 children.  She loved attending church, volunteering and helping out in many different roles.  Bill and Hilda travelled extensively; often doing missions work wherever they went, she was always happy to be feeding family and friends, the eternal hostess and planner.

Hilda is survived by her husband, Bill, whom she was married to for 70 years, children -Dennis(Teresa)Hubert, Wes(Karen)Hubert, Bev(Pierre)Raimbault, Bruce(Lorna)Hubert, Ruth(Mark)Collins, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great, great grandchild and nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings- Jake(Mica)Wiens , Helen(Frank)Baergen, Jerry(Mary)Wiens, Henry(Erna)Wiens, Bill(Irene)Wiens.

The family would like to thank all those who helped Hilda during her recent health concerns.  Hilda lived a full life and will be missed by many.
