Obituary of Irene Betty Klassen

Klassen, Irene Betty (Thiessen) born June 28,1935. Mom is finally experiencing UNSPEAKABLE JOY!!! Peacefully on Dec 22, 2016, at the age of 81, God called home a most precious treasure. Missing her greatly is her husband of 50years Jakob Klassen. Children Lynda (Victor), Harry (Jolene), Reinhold (aka Red)(Suzanne). Grandchildren Jordan (Jessica - fiance), Michael (Marisa), Brittany, Leah, Olivia, Lukas and Ty and her 1st and newborn great grandchild Sydney Irene. She is also survived by her siblings Harry (Pepper), Eugene (Mathilda), Henry (Leona) and sister-in-law Sarah. Predeceased by her parents and her siblings Jake, John, Dave, Anne, and Sally. She will also be greatly missed by her Klassen and Heidebrecht families and her many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Dr. Arvinte and the palliative team at Shaver – you were the tangible evidence of God's love. To the many CCAC staff such as Andrea, Darlene & Sharlene, you showed the genuine heart of care giving. To Kim Kodatsky at the Heart Function Clinic, you gave invaluable time and support as we journeyed through the last years of moms health challenges. FOREVER GRATEFUL. The family will receive friends at the SCOTT ST. MENNONITE BRETHREN CHURCH, 339 Scott St. St. Catharines on Tuesday, Dec 27th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm. Memorial Service in the Church on Wednesday, Dec 28th at 11 am with interment at the Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery prior to the service. If desired, memorial donations to the Hotel Dieu Shaver Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
