Obituary of Henry Kopeschny

KOPESCHNY, Henry - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Henry Kopeschny on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at the Greater Niagara General Hospital, at the age of 80. Surrounded by his family, his loving wife of 60 years, Erna and sons, Henry (Barb), John (Rose), Edward (Paula) and Richard (Stacy). Loving Opa to his grandchildren, Jonathan (Ashley), Melanie (Brian), Arthur, Richard, Gillian Olivia and Great Opa to Carson. Predeceased by his parents Philomena (1975) and Adolf (1979) and his brother John (2007). Henry is survived by his sister and brothers, Helen (Waltemare) Peters, David (Hedy) Kopeschny, Ignat (Liz) Kopeschny and sister in law, Katie Kopeschny. Also brother in law of Mary Mensch, Helen (Peter) Thiessen, Ernie (Frieda) Neudorf and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. After 38 years of working at Canadian Canners, Henry retired in 1995 to enjoy his family, fishing, trail walking and nature. The family will receive friends at the VINELAND CHAPEL of the TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St. on Tuesday 2-4 and 7-8:30 pm. Funeral Service will be held at the St. Catharines United Mennonite Church, 335 Linwell Rd., St. Catharines on Wednesday, September 25th at 10:30 am. Interment will follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
