Obituary of Katherine McQuarrie

McQUARRIE, Katherine Jean - We are saddened to announce the passing of Katherine, on Saturday, December 13th, but we have joy in knowing that she now rests in the presence of Jesus. Predeceased by her father Harvey McQuarrie (1964) and mother Julia (1995) and her brother Donald (2006); niece Lou-Ann Nispel (2006) and sister in law, Marian (2001). Sadly missed by her brother Keith (Doris) and sister in law Evelyn. Missed by nieces, Sue Ann Shartrand (Ron), Janet Fondse (John) and nephews, Scott McQuarrie (Lisa), Alan (Vandra) and David (Erika) and their families. Kathy's life had purpose. She and other children with similar limitations served as catalysts moving their parents to form what has come to be known as the KW District Association for Community Living. Her father was involved on the side of education and administration, her mother in visiting and bringing comfort and hope to mothers who had recently learned that their new baby would have developmental limitations. Deeply felt thanks to Hollie Ples, Lorena Babuglia and predecessors for their loving care and enrichment of Kathy's life. The family will receive friends Friday, December 19th at the VINELAND CHAPEL of TALLMAN FUNERAL HOMES, 3277 King St., Vineland, beginning at 10 am with the Funeral Service following at 11 am. Interment later that day at Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Bethesda Home Foundation Inc. 3920 Fly Rd., Vineland, ON L0R 2C0
