My grandpa is by far the wisest man I know. He was loved by all who knew him, will be missed by all who loved him, and will be remembered whenever we miss him. I love you Grandpa. My condolences to the rest of the family and friends from myself, Josh, his 2 great granddaughters Lexis and Chassi, and the one on the way who will unfortunately never have the chance to meet this amazing man.

Charlie was like my dad to me, a powerful and positive influence in my formative years when my own dad was absent from my life. I was a tag-a-long friend of his son Doug and was taken along to many an interesting place. His love for airplanes and models was exciting for an impressionable kid. Charlie took me for my first airplane ride when I was about 12. This would have a lasting influence to this day more than four decades later. Shirley and Charlie’s home on Garfield Ave was my second home and as I grew up they embraced my future wife Maureen and had a positive influence on her. There was many a Friday we spent at the Raders. Charlie always impressed me on how hard he worked to support his family and how committed he was to that goal. He was a gentleman with a soft voice and a quiet laugh. He was very kind and compassionate. His eye for photography was amazing and he seemed to always be looking through a lens at an image that others would not notice. He turned his hobby into a business that was critical to his family income for many years. One of my regrets in life is that my own young family lead to a physical separation in my close personal friendship with Charlie. We didn’t see each other as much as I would have liked to. He was never far away in my thoughts. I loved this man and I will miss him dearly. Good bye my friend. I will love you always. It is not physically possible for me to be at the service. My sincere condolences to Shirley, Doug, Carolyn and Nancy. My thoughts are with you at this time of great sorrow.

Charlie and I were friends for many years when I was manager of Graphics at Westinghouse. We worked on many projects together. A dear friend and knowledgeable fellow professional who will be missed by many, including myself.
