Obituary of Emil Matejcic

MATEJCIC, Emil - Peacefully at home surrounded by family, on March 21st in his 86th year. Emil will now be reunited with his beloved wife Anne (Klepec), with whom he shared over 60 of the happiest years of his life. Many will miss Emil: sister Mary and her husband Mike (Lucas); family Michael (Joan), Paul, Andrew, Linda; grandchildren Kristen, Joe, Holden; and many great-grandchildren. Nieces, nephews, cousins and the many friends who he made so effortlessly will also fondly remember him. Emil will be recalled in so many ways: devoted husband, protective big brother, cool dad, wonderful father in-law, generous friend, master woodworker, talented musician, successful businessman, card shark, Schumacher yoyo champion, ambidextrous southpaw, and all round life of the party. Special thanks to nurses Carol and Pat, Drs. Peters and Hansenberger, nurse Diane at the Beamsville Medical Centre, Tara and the team at the Walker Cancer Centre. As requested by Emil, a private memorial will be held for family only. If desired, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (cancer.ca) or the West Lincoln Memorial Hospital Foundation (wlmh.on.ca) would be a wonderful way to remember Emil.
