Norma Stirling

Obituary of Norma Irene Stirling

Our dear mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother peacefully passed away on Monday, December 14th, 2015 in her 97th year. Norma was the beloved wife of the late Harold (“Shorty”) Stirling (Beamsville, Ont.) and predeceased by her son, Doug, and brother, John (“Mac”) McDougall (Phyllis, Campbell River, B.C). She will be treasured as the loving mother of Terry (Glennis, Saskatoon, Sask.), Kevin (Valerie, Campbell River, B.C), and Randy (Ana Lorraine, St. Anns, Ont.). She will be sadly missed by the grandchildren she adored- Patrick, Kenzie (Bobby), Ferris, Katie (Scott), Kyle, and Ryan. She will remain in the hearts of her great-grandchildren Molly, Kiera, Kalem, Kamaya, Nash and Ali, and her nieces, Jeanette and Nancy, and nephew, Lori, in B.C. Heartfelt thanks and affection go to Rudy and Vicki Schindel for being the best neighbours to Norma that anyone could ever hope for during her years in Beamsville. Norma will be remembered as a fun-loving and gracious lady who loved reading and movies and was a talented gardener, crafter (especially tatting), and creator of kitchen magic (who could forget her Pineapple Delight and scrumptious chocolate turtles!). Thanks are extended to the staff at the NHS/WHS Extended Care unit for making Norma feel comfortable and loved during her days with them. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date when the flowers she loved will bloom again.
