Obituary of Dale Richard Bowslaugh

Bowslaugh, Dale Richard, 54, passed away after a sudden illness Sunday, May 27,
2018 at the Heart Institute in Ottawa. Predeceased by his mother Sheila, he is
survived by his father Peter (Grace) and sister Elizabeth.

Dale spent most of his working career at Atomic Energy of Canada/Canadian
Nuclear Labs joining them initially in 1990 where he was originally an employee
at the Sheridan Park site and then later at the Chalk River site in 2008. Some
of the significant contributions that Dale made during his tenure with AECL/CNL
was his support to the National Research Universal Vessel Repair Project and the
development of the NRU Environmental Qualification Program. Over the last two
years Dale has been supporting the Near Surface Disposal Facility Project
Engineering team in Deep River. Not one to sit around, Dale spent a lot of his
time outdoors frequently hiking or snowshoeing in Algonquin Park, kayaking the
Ottawa River or working in his garden. Dale was an avid photographer and each
year he travelled to Trinidad where he spent time at an ashram and participated
on an ecological project.
