Obituary of Rev. Robert Rudolph Wagner

WAGNER, Rev. Robert Rudolph. Bob died on June 13, 2016 at Roseway Manor, Shelburne, NS. He was born on Sept 24, 1924, in Bridgewater, NS, the son of Dawson Isaiah Wagner and Mabel Eugene Hunter. He graduated from Mount Allison University, and Pine Hill Divinity Hall, the United Church theological college. Over a 40 year career, he provided pastoral care in: Cape North, NS; O’Leary, PEI; Little Current, ON; Vineland Station, ON; Palmerston, ON; and Hamilton, ON. Bob is survived by his wife, Pauline Bisbee Smith Wagner (Shelburne, NS); his son James and his wife Elizabeth Wagner (Beamsville, ON); his daughter, Carol Wagner (Burnaby, BC); his grandchildren, Bradford Wagner (Toronto, ON), Trent Loosemore (Calgary, AB), and Victoria Loosemore (Burnaby); and his former son-in-law, Gary Loosemore (White Rock, BC). He is also survived by his step-children Diane Purney (Shelburne, NS) and James Smith (Winnipeg, MN), and by his son David’s second wife, Andrea Wagner (Oakville, ON), and her children Azia and Dane Onofrychuk (Edmonton, AB, and Oakville). Robert was predeceased by his first wife of 50 years, Rachael Dimock (Belmont, NS), and his son, David and his wife Sandra Wagner (Oakville). He will be missed by Rachael’s sister-in-law Ida Dimock (Belmont, NS), and by the children of Rachael’s predeceased sisters and brother: Grace Hollingsworth Kilcup, Charlotte King, Rosamond Draper and Edwin Dimock (all of NS). Funeral arrangements are under the care of the H. M. Huskilson’s Funeral Home, Shelburne, NS, with visitation and a funeral on June 16, 2016, and interment to be in Pine Grove Cemetery, Shelburne, NS. There will be a local visitation on June 25, 2016, from 2 - 4 p.m., at the Fireside Room of the Tallman Funeral Homes, Ltd., 3277 King Street, Vineland, ON. If desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
