Obituary of Ernst Fast

Ernst Fast 1944 – 2022

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ernst Fast who left us on August 5^th, 2022.  Following a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s disease, Ernst was surrounded by his family at his side and left us at the young age of 78.  Born June 12th, 1944, in the Chaco Paraguay he was the middle child of Aron and Susie Fast. 

Ernst will be lovingly remembered by his exceptional wife of nearly 55 years, Liese, his son Marvin, (Shari), Gary, (Josee), Grandchildren Mikayla, (Tyler), Amber, Rachel, Matthew, and siblings Irene, (Eric), Agnes, (Erich), Elmer, (Marlene).  Ernst was predeceased by his older brother Henry, (Margaret). 

The family would like to thank the personal support workers, nurses, doctor’s and staff at Westhills Care Centre (Bradley Court) for all their outstanding care and compassion.  Also, a special thanks to Shari Fast who selflessly stood by Dad, day in and out and even took a leave of absence to help Mom take care of Dad when it was nearly impossible to manage. 

Ernst will be deeply missed by his family and friends.  His strength of faith, character, generosity, and humorous nature were the hallmarks of a man who touched the lives of many.  However, most important was the love between Ernst and Liese who through good times and bad loved each other deeply and completely.  They dedicated their lives to their children and each other and their example is a testament of a fulfilled life steep in the conviction of Christ.

The family will receive friends at Tallman Funeral Homes, 3277 King St.,Vineland on Wednesday August 10 from 10-11am with funeral service beginning at 11am. Interment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. For those wishing to view the livestream please follow this link - Livestream - Ernst Fast
