Obituary of Susanne Janzen

It is with sad, but grateful hearts that we announce the passing of Susanne Janzen (nee Siebert) of Pleasant Manor, Virgil at the age of 96 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her sister, Maria Dyck, her daughter-in-law, Helena, and daughter, Mary (Ron) Pries. She was caring Oma to: Christine (Craig) Janzen Neufeld, Daniel (Ana), Edwin (Heather), Katrina, and Jonathan. She was “Oma Susie” to her great grandchildren: Ray, Elijah, Leopold, Freddie, and Chloe.

She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews, both here and in Germany.

Pre-deceased by her husband, Hans, step-son, Ivan, sister, Justina Flaming, and her brothers-in-law, David Dyck and Hans Flaming.

She was “Tante Susie” to everyone fortunate enough to have known her and friends soon became family.

She was loving and generous to all who knew her.

She was especially grateful for all the kindness and help that she received from so many over the years.  

She will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Niagara United Mennonite Church. Interment at Niagara Lakeshore Cemetery at Friday, January 27 at 10am. Funeral to follow at 11am at Niagara United Mennonite Church, 1775 Niagara Stone Rd., Niagara-on-the-Lake.

Memorial donations can be made to Mennonite Central Committee.
