Obituary of Arthur Jacob Plug

Arthur Jacob Plug, 68, passed away from Parkinsons with his loving son, Zach, at his side on September 13th, 2023.

 

Born to Jacob & Cornelia Plug on April 9th, 1955 in St. Catharines, Ontario. Married on May 21st, 1977 and survived by his former wife Kathleen Pizzacalla; their children, Trevor, who passed June 12th, 2017 & Zachary (Todd).

 

Art attended Beamsville High School and was an athlete in rowing, football, and baseball. He became an accountant for Purity Zinc Metals in Stoney Creek. He was a family man and spent his free time helping his boys participate and excel in sports, music and school. He wouldn’t miss an event they were in and would often be the driver for long road trips.

 

He enjoyed holidays with his siblings, their spouses and children; Robert(Bernadette), children Yvonne, Marcel(Sarah), Michelle(Dwayne); Rudy (Linda), children Aaron, Graham, Joel(Lona); Astrid (Larry) Reid, children Brad, Andrea(Nick), Julie(Terry). He had a special connection with Andrea’s children Onix & Alea.

 

Arthur was diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s at the age of 42. Despite this he lived a full life and did not let it diminish his spirit.

 

He was very proud of his sons; Trevor who became a Catholic Priest and Zach who became a physiotherapist. Zach’s marriage to his husband Todd, brought Arthur great joy in his final year.

Arthur will be missed by all and we invite you to celebrate his life with us. 

 

Visitation will be held at Tallman Funeral Homes (3277 King St, Vineland) on Friday September 15th from 2:00 - 4:00pm and 6:00 - 8:00pm. A Funeral service will take place at Tallman Funeral Homes on Saturday September 16th, at 10:00am with reception immediately following in the Fireside room. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Julia Church (251 Glenridge Ave, St. Catharines) on Saturday September 16th at 2:00pm. Cremation to follow.
