Obituary of Patricia Hazel House

House, Patricia - After a long struggle with dementia, we announce the passing of Patricia Hazel House (April 8, 1954 to December 18, 2023).  Pat was predeceased by her parents, Elva House (nee Cantelon/Oke) (d. 1998) and Harvey House (d.1993), of Stoney Creek and her beloved brother Paul Douglas House (d. 2021) and sister-in-law Carolee (d. 2004) of Jordan Station.  Pat will be dearly missed by her brother, Robert, sister-in-law Bonnie/Susan, and nieces and nephews, David, Laura (Vincent), Geoffrey (Agnieszka), Marnie (Warren) and Ryan as well as great nieces and nephews, Katharine, Benjamin, Owen, Fiona, Quinn, Clara and Robert.

Pat loved her family and enjoyed family get togethers where “pass the ace” would always result in loads of laughs.  Pat loved music, dancing, rug-hooking, knitting and fashion shows. Her favourite artists were Elvis Presley, Barbara Streisand, Dolly Parton and Tom Jones. She loved the TV shows MASH, Johnny Carson and Wheel of Fortune. She was a fun-loving generous aunt and fierce ace-passer, who loved a big hug. Despite cognitive challenges, Pat worked at Giant Tiger and Dollarama and enjoyed independent living after her parents passed away.  We commend those companies for their accommodation of people with disabilities.

The family is very grateful for the thoughtful, compassionate care provided by the United Mennonite Home in Vineland, Ontario.  In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you consider a donation to the United Mennonite Home or a charity of your choice.

Cremation has occurred and interment will occur at Mountainview Gardens in Stoney Creek, when spring comes, alongside her mom and dad.
