Although I haven't crossed paths with John for several years, he still stands large in my memory as a very pleasant personal encourager who gave diligent energy toward whatever would promote the name of Christ and nurture others toward Him. He had a significant life for the Kingdom!

Dear Katherine, Ken and family, My deepest sympathies for you on the passing of your father. I feel privilidged to have known your father during these past years through sharing of your stories. He seemed like a very caring, patient man which I'm sure was needed in caring for your mother. My thoughts are with you and will think of you again tomorrow as I will not be able to attend the service. Best regards, Jennifer Anderson

I was saddened to hear of the passing of John/Handy. He was a faithful worker here on earth in the service of our King. Although his work isn’t autographed, there are many of us who walk around Camp Cherith knowing what great facilities we have because he (and others like him) generously gave his time, talents, and labour. As the family grieves, I pray for comfort but the knowledge that he is home with his Lord allows us to mourn with hope and joy. We rejoice knowing that one day we’ll all be reunited. I’d like to think of it as the greatest camp reunion to come!

My deepest sympathies on the passing of a great but humble man. John has left an amazing legacy of hard work for the ministry at Camp Cherith - Ontario. The care & detail he put into each project he took on there was amazing. And yes, how could I forget mentioning the times he spent with my father, Don, on those grounds. Lots of great memories for those two men. Know that I will be thinking of you as you continue your life journeys without this dear father, husband, uncle, and of course, how many of us knew him at Camp Cherith-Ontario... "Handy".
