I just learned of the passing of Pastor Anderson and I am so saddened because I often think about him, Sister Anderson and the children. I lived with the family for a while in 1966 in a large house at Ellen Street while attending school at Mt. St. Joseph Academy.
Pastor Anderson was the minister of the small church I attended at George's Valley and he paid for my tuition because my Mom could not afford to send me to school.
It was the best time of my young life living with Amy, Sharon, Dale and later on Melody. I left shortly after she was born as I had completed my studies. The experience was so rich and it made me what I am today.
I currently reside in New York City. I retired in 2013 from the Banking industry after forty years. My three children are all grown and on their own.
My sincere condolences to Sister Anderson and the family
May God bless and keep you all in His care

My dearest Uncle Lester. You and Aunt Irma were the first to show me there were good people in this world. You were kind, wise, funny, strong both physically and mentally. You always wanted to'give'in every way. What stood out for me was your strong faith and we had a lot of discussion about this. We came to a deep respect for each other. I miss you uncle. I hope we meet again soon. Wishing you a peaceful rest. Love you lots. Lorna xx (Nam-myoho-renge-kyo) xx

When I was a little girl my father called me his "tail" because I followed him everywhere. Throughout my life he inspired me with his generousity and desire to live life to the fullest. He instilled a strong sense of family even when he physically wasn't with us and that continues today. I love you Papa, rest in peace, Mel

We are so sad to hear of our uncle Lester passing. We send our deepest condolences and prayers to Aunt Irma and family. Our Uncle Lester was a kind and generous man who would always make time to discuss the meaning of life and the effects and benefits of having God in our lives. He took the time to write to us individual hand written letters, giving us the benefits of his wisdom. He was able to explain the Bible clearly and concisely so that even the non believer would listen to him with respect as they could see how sincere he was in what he believed in. He did not just preach but could show by example how a good Christian should live. He was a beacon of hope for us and we deeply respected him as a person and we are honoured to call him Uncle. Our tribute would not be complete if we could not quote a chapter from the Bible. Ecclesiastes 3 (International Standard Version) The Purposes in God’s Timing 1There is a season for everything, and a time for every event under heaven:a 2a time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted; 3a time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build up; 4a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance; 5a time to scatter stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing; 6a time to search, and a time to give up searching;b a time to keep, and a time to discard; 7a time to tear, and a time to mend; a time to be silent, and a time to speak; 8a time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. The Purpose of Life 9What benefit does the worker gain from what he undertakes? 10I have observed the burdens placed by God on human beings in order to perfect them. 11He made everything appropriate in its time. He also placed eternity within them—yet, no person can fully comprehend what God is doing from beginning to end. And a quote from Dr Martin Luther King (1929-1968) strength to love 1963 The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in the moment of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy Proverb To change and to change for the better are two different things. Beloved ones. My whole heart is with you. Our dearest Unlcle Lester, as left his body and passed into his Glory. Hallelujah. May you take comfort in the legacy of love and wisdom he's left behind. Uncle Lester Thank you for being not only a Uncle but on the passing of my own father you embraced me as a spiritual father. Your letters were not ordinary letters. They were filled with the love and spirit of God. I read them over and over again and shared them with family and friends. They are still treasured and the words in them are still alive today in my heart. Even the differences in concepts we shared were overcome by the unfailing love that was in our hearts. I was grateful God brought me and Mom to share together your 90 th birthday. I am not there with you and the family in this moment physically but nothing can separate the love in the heart of that which lives in this house. With all my heart wishes to everyone.
